Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America is in Granite Falls, about 45min drive north of Seattle.
Some videos, depending on how much time you have:
- about seven minutes: four hyperactive young women visit a shrine (Atarashii Gakko)
- about twenty minutes: Shinto explained by a naturalised Brit to a naturalised Canadian (Life Where I’m From)
- about an hour: a five-video series explaining Shinto (Religion for Breakfast)
My own favourite books on Shinto are A Visual Guide to Shinto and Shinto from an International Perspective, both by Yamaguchi Satoshi. However, you have to order them from Japan.
Immanent Legitimation: a book chapter examining the nature of kami in depth.
For more resources, I recommend Rev. Olivia’s reading list.
